| Falun Gong, also known as
Falun Dafa, is a traditional Chinese qigong practice. It uses
gentle movements and meditation to cultivate the body, mind, and
spirit. Due to the tremendous benefits it can bring to
practitioners, Falun Gong has grown to be the most popular
qigong system in the world.
Falun Gong is a complete and powerful system, which consists
of five simple exercises, which can be performed by anyone
regardless of age, physical condition, or prior experience. The
exercises create internal harmony, thus increasing one’s energy
and eliminating stress.
Falun Gong is based on the principles of Truth, Compassion,
and Tolerance. Practitioners learn to let go of negative
thoughts and behaviors, and to view all conflicts not as
difficulties but as opportunities to grow.
- First taught publicly in 1992
- Practiced in more than 70 countries
- More than 100 million practitioners in less than 10
years
Falun Gong is not a religion, although it shares some
terminology and concepts with the Buddhist and Taoist religions.
Falun Gong does not have any religious rituals or formalities of
worship. Nor is Falun Gong in any way political. Falun Gong is
also not a business. Volunteers provide all classes free of
charge, and all reading materials are available on the Internet,
also free of charge. There are no membership fees, no regular
organization or hierarchy. Falun Gong practitioners are regular
people who share the desire to improve themselves using this
powerful, proven system of cultivation and self-development. |
